At Cadence Kennels, we enjoy a longstanding tradition of animal care and training. Our dog obedience classes began in 1946 with Bill Koehler, who spent 21 years as an animal trainer for Disney™. At that time, he started teaching the public how to have great companion dogs. In 1950, Cadence Kennels opened its doors for boarding. Patrick Smith, our current owner, has been involved in the Koehler Dog Training program since 1977. In 1994 he moved on to the property, with his family, to operate the boarding business.

1. If I have two dogs, can they be in the same run (kennel)?
If you have two small dogs (approx. 10 lbs. each) and they do not fight over food, they can be boarded together. If we cannot board them together, we still prefer to place dogs that live together next to one another.
2. Can I bring my own food?
Yes, you can—for a $2-per-day handling fee. Alternately, we feed a good quality lamb and rice kibble that contains no corn or wheat. The kibble is small in size and all the dogs do well on it.
3. Can I drop off or pick up my dog when you are closed?
No—we open promptly and close promptly, at all posted hours.
